  • Description

Prolactin (PRL) is a pituitary hormone involved in a variety of essential functions including reproduction, ion transport, growth, development and immunoregulation. It is also classified as a cytokine and influences different cell types through a signal transduction pathway upon ligand binding and dimerization of the Prolactin Receptor. The transmembrane PRL receptor, a member of the cytokine receptor superfamily, can be found in long and short forms depending on tissue source and species (ranging from ~40 kDa to 100 kDa). Signal transduction is mediated with the aid of members of the JAK/STAT signaling pathway.

    Immunofluorescence Analysis

Purified Anti-Rat/Mouse Prolactin Receptor (CL093AP) staining of paraformaldehyde-fixed paraffin-embedded rat pituitary sections at 400x magnification. (Rabbit anti-rat/mouse Prolactin Receptor (CL093AP) 1:500; Alexa Fluor 488 Goat anti-rabbit 1:500 (Molecular Probes) and Normal Goat Serum (blocking))
